Abstract

We analyzed the habitat associations of wintering Loggerhead Shrikes (Lanius ludovicianus) in the Central Valley and found them positively associated with grassland, irrigated pasture, and forage crops such as hay. They avoided oak savanna, rice, orchards, and rural residential areas.
